New Website Launch – Pugs & Hugs

A brand-new online presence for Pugs & Hugs — a local dog walking and pet sitting service in Hinckley. This clean, mobile-friendly site was built from scratch to reflect the warmth and reliability of the business, helping new customers connect quickly and easily.

I’m excited to share the launch of the brand-new Pugs & Hugs website! This project gave me the chance to support a trusted local business in Hinckley that offers dog walking and pet sitting services with a truly personal touch. Orla, the heart behind the brand, has built strong relationships through care, reliability, and a real love of animals — and now she has a site that reflects exactly that.

This was a fresh build from the ground up: no old content to work around, no redesign — just a clear plan to create something that works simply and well.

Client Overview

Pugs & Hugs is a local, independent service offering dog walking and pet sitting to families in and around Hinckley. It’s run by Orla, who brings warmth, dedication, and a personal touch to every part of the job. Her clients trust her with their dogs and other pets from reptiles, to birds, fish and cats, and the goal here was to build a site that reflects that trust and professionalism.

The Challenge

Before this project, Pugs & Hugs didn’t have an online presence. Orla was relying on social media and word-of-mouth, which worked to a point — but wasn’t sustainable long-term. The challenge was to create a clear, trustworthy website that new customers could find easily, understand quickly, and use to get in touch without any friction.

The Approach

The aim was to keep things simple and useful. I designed the site to be fast, mobile-friendly (responsive), and easy to manage. The layout is clean, with clear service details, featured reviews, and a prominent enquiry form.

I focused on giving Orla control over her own content, so she can make updates without needing to call in help every time something changes, but as with all my clients, she is free to at any time. The structure is also future-ready — there’s room to add a booking system or more detailed service information down the line, without a rebuild.

The Result

The new site gives Pugs & Hugs a proper home online. It reflects the business’s personality, builds trust with new visitors, and creates a smooth path from interest to enquiry.

The feedback from Orla and her clients so far has been great, and Orla now has a platform she can grow with. It’s simple, effective, and built to last.

Got a project like this?

If you’re running a local business and need a website that works without the fluff — something that helps people find you, trust you, and reach out — that’s what I build.

Let’s create something together that fits the way you work.

For the tech curious: behind the scenes

The site was built with Bricks Builder for WordPress, a lightweight, performance-focused builder aimed at developers. It’s running on a VPS tuned for speed and reliability, based on OpenLiteSpeed technology and supported by a Redis-based object cache. Clean, fast, and built to last.
